Latest Updates from Our Project:

We did it! Thank you so much!!!
almost 3 years ago – Fri, Jun 04, 2021 at 03:48:36 PM

We did it.  155 backers. 268% funded. Thank you so much.

We couldn't have done any of this without your support and enthusiasm. This month has been incredible, and it's all because of you.

So, what's next? The first thing is to fix “errored” pledges.

Over the next week, Kickstarter will process the funds. They will try and correct what they term “Errored” pledges. It's basically where a backer's credit card has expired and needs to be updated. We’ve got 4 backers right now with errored pledges. Kickstarter gives us just a few days to correct these pledges, so make sure to update those or you will not be able to receive your rewards. And that's no fun!

(Please message me if you have any issues correcting your pledge. I want to ensure you get all your rewards.)

The Timeline:

Once the funds are processed, you’ll be receiving a Backerkit survey that will collect the address where you’d like us to ship your books, as well as the name you’d like to see appear in the special “Thank You” page at the back of the digital edition. You'll also have the chance to add any other add-ons you'd like to grab before the art heads to print. When you receive those surveys, please respond ASAP. Once those surveys are back, I’ll email the digital rewards. Meanwhile, I’ll send the pages and mini-print art off to the printer to get the books into your hands ASAP. I’ll keep you posted along the way.

One last thing...

THANKS AGAIN!

This campaign exceeded my wildest expectations, and it's all thanks to your support. I can't wait to share MANDRILL, P.I. with you.

almost 3 years ago – Thu, Jun 03, 2021 at 05:26:26 AM

This tier was sold out.

But you have been so amazing throughout this campaign, I decided to open 2 additional slots!

If you want a cameo in Issue #2 and you've already pledged, you can select Manage Your Pledge at the top of our main Kickstarter page, and upgrade to any tier at or above "Describe him for me, ma'am."

Thank you again for your support!

In addition, more awesome comics to check out:

1) Evermore Falls by Karl Slominski

Super fun looking all-ages tale. The pitch:

"Join our plucky young heroes Izzy and Milo who - with the aide of a mysterious book - discover a magical world where MONSTERS live in secret. But the newfound land of mystical creatures is also home to an ancient danger that, if uncovered, threatens our own world’s existence. As our young adventurers embark on a dangerous quest to the underworld, they forge unlikely alliances and learn that the very traits that make us different are also what make us stronger - strong enough to save the world!"

2) Angel's Blood Zero: An Evil Comic Book Prequel by Ken Leinaar

Cool looking book that is an intentionally BLACK AND WHITE, line-art driven story. It tackles the concepts of good and evil, and the stark black & white style is part of its vision. Check it out!

Next Stretch Goal Unlocked!
almost 3 years ago – Thu, Jun 03, 2021 at 05:26:23 AM

Thank you again for the support!

We've crossed the 151 backer mark, and now all backers will receive the below curated batch of amazing comics! These will be coming to your inbox after reward surveys go out following campaign close.

And we've opened the next backer stretch goal:

That's right! At 200 backers, all backers at a physical level will get a second physical comic: Lost Dogs Motorcycle Club #1!

It's an awesome comic by Joshua Janes. Here's the description:

  • Ten years have passed since the world was damned and the dead began to walk the streets to feed on the souls of the innocent. The castaways of humanity have continued to struggle for survival outside the walls of the Nedewen Keep. Little Man and Buttercup herd zombies for the Nedewen machine, as they work their plan to rescue Boo. During their latest run, they may have stumbled upon just the right opportunity to gain access when a Nazi cult attacks the Keep, leaving it open and defenseless.

If you want to upgrade to a physical backer tier to be eligible for this added reward (and the stickers + bookmark!), you can select Manage Your Pledge at the top of our main Kickstarter page, and upgrade to any tier at or above "Let's Get Physical" ($15+).

We're also a little over $200 away from everyone at a physical level receiving another all-new mini-print! There's a little over an hour away. I think we can do it!

Thank you again, and be back later for another update!

About 24 Hours to go!
almost 3 years ago – Wed, Jun 02, 2021 at 04:30:45 AM

First of all, I want to thank you again for making this such an amazing campaign.

You are awesome.

We've now blown past the next Stretch Goal! Every backer at a physical level will be receiving die-cut Mandrill, P.I. stickers!

Aaaaaand now, without further ado, the next stretch goal: this AMAZING, all-new art print from Matt Garbutt!

If we hit the $5K mark, everyone backing at a physical level will have one added to their order. This amazing cinematic piece will also be a variant cover for Issue 2, the campaign for which we will launch later this year (after I fulfill Issue #1).

And we're closing in on the next "backer" goal:

We're less than 20 backers away from everyone getting this awesome bundle of comics, so please keep spreading the word. We've got an entire day to unlock these awesome rewards!

Thank you again!

Only 2 Days Left! Here are some more recommendations!
almost 3 years ago – Mon, May 31, 2021 at 06:45:56 PM

There are just 2 days left in the campaign. One of the biggest things I'll miss about having an active Kickstarter campaign is putting a spotlight on work by other creators. So, I wanted to ensure I included a ton in this one!

But first, we're less than $100 from the next funding stretch goal, which will mean die-cut MANDRILL, P.I. stickers added to pledges at all physical levels! If you're on the fence about upgrading tiers or adding on any of my prose work to an order, this is the perfect excuse!

To add Add-Ons to your reward, head to the top of our Kickstarter Page and click the "Manage Your Pledge." Then select "Change your pledge." Then select your pledge (even if it is the same exact pledge level as you previously had. Click that green button.). Then you will see a screen with your pledge and the Add-Ons below that are available for purchase.

In addition, some comics by other creators for you to check out:

1) Invasion From Planet Wrestletopia! By Suspicious Behavior Productions

As a huge pro-wrestling fan, this one seems too fun not to back! A hilarious concept that I wish I'd thought of:

When disgruntled professional wrestler “Rock ‘n’ Roll” Rory Landell declares himself “galactic champion of the universe,” little does he know that he's sparked an intergalactic war with a planet of aliens for whom wrestling isn't just real, it's their way of life! Now Earth is paying the price—but can Rory get his act together in time to save us all?

2) HAUNTING/Like Father, Like Daughter Crossover #1 by Kathryn Calamia

This one looks super fun!

The pitch:

"Bram is a bratty teenager who just wants to be left alone. Too bad wherever he goes, THE DEAD RISE! Casey is a high school student whose father abandoned her to become a full-time superhero. She's finally forced to grapple with her complicated feelings towards him when she INHERITS HIS SUPERPOWERS!"

[CHECK IT OUT BY CLICKING HERE OR ON THE IMAGE]

3) Crucifix Executioner by Duncan Cunningham

This one is definitely NSFW/mature. In this 88 page, full color volume, we see the return of the Crucifix Executioner as he begins to heal physically, mentally, and spiritually, but as he catches a breath, a dark gasoline smeared shadow falls over the city.

[CHECK IT OUT BY CLICKING HERE OR ON THE IMAGE]

4) Flesh-Eating Cheerleaders from Outer Space by Dren Productions

Another NSFW/mature one, this one is in the same ballpark as those old classic horror B-Movies from the 60s and 70s--the kind you'd rent from Blockbuster with your college buddies and turn into a drinking game. This one is about cheerleaders infected by parasitic space worms, turning them into evil flesh-eating monsters.

5) Warlash: Cold Metal Mayhem & BioBurden by Asylum Press

Post-apocalyptic hardboiled sci-fi? Sign me up!

The pitch:

"Warlash, an armored warrior of the apocalyptic future, is back. In 'The Generator,' Warlash goes on the hunt for a missing girl, only to find she has been kidnapped by a super villain who has activated her mutant powers. And in 'Grubbs,' Warlash goes into the seedy underground sewer system to chase a mutated monster who is devouring people at will."
